ADJUSTMENTS
3.1

GENERAL________________________________________________________________

!
WARNING
To prevent injury, lower implements to the ground,
disengage all drives, engage parking brake, stop
engine, and remove key from ignition switch before
making any adjustments or performing maintenance.
Make sure the mower is parked on a solid and level
surface. Never work on a mower that is supported
only by the jack. Always use jack stands.
If only the front or rear of the mower is raised, place
chocks in front of and behind the wheels that are not
raised.

ENGINE BELT ____________________________________________________________

Inspect and adjust new belt after first 50 hours of
operation. Check and adjust annually thereafter.

Adjust alternator pulley so belt deflects 1/4" to 5/16" (6
to 8 mm) with a 20 lb. push at midpoint between pulleys.
See engine manual.
2. To adjust, loosen alternator mounting bolts (A), and
adjust alternator until proper belt tension is
achieved, then retighten belts.

THROTTLE _______________________________________________________________

Check throttle adjustment, if engine runs below
recommended RPM with throttle lever in its high speed
position.
For all other engine adjustments refer to the Engine
Owner's
Manual
supplied
manufacturer.
1.
Remove side cover from instrument panel.
2. Position throttle lever in its high speed position so
that 1/16 - 1/4 in. (2-6 mm) gap exists between lever
and panel (D).
3. With throttle lever on engine against max speed
stop, adjust throttle cable nuts (C) so that eyelet (B)
on cable fits over pin as shown.
