Setting Up Your VCR Controls
Passport DCT provides you with the ability to control your VCR either on
impulse or by setting a timer. This chapter describes how you set up your VCR
to be able to control the recording capability through the settop and its remote.
Note that not all DCT units have this option, refer to your provider for
additional information. This chapter includes the following sections:

About VCR controls

Passport DCT provides you with the ability to control your VCR either on
impulse or by setting a timer using your settop and its remote control. First you
must set up the VCR Controller and your VCR.

Connecting Your VCR Controller

To utilize this feature, a piece of hardware (the VCR Controller) is required. It
must be set up as shown in the following illustration.
