Setting
the distance
to the subject
Mode dial: ~ISIAIMISCNlilI
Normally the focus is automatically
adjusted. This function is useful when
the auto focus does not work well such
as in dark places.

Press FOCUS.
The focus is fixed and the E?
(manual focus) indicator appears.
Turn the jog dial to select the
desired focus setting.
You can select from 15 focus
settings (unit: m) including the G
position:
0.1,0.2,0.3,0.5,0.8, 1.0, 1.5,2,3,
5,7, 10, 15, and 00 (infinity)
To reactivate
auto focusing
Press FOCUS again and the focal point
information disappears.
Notes
l
Focal point information may not
completely show the correct distance. Use
the information as a guide.
l
The focus preset does not work properly
when attaching a conversion lens.
l
If you shoot a subject within 0.5 m
(19 314 inches) with the zoom is set to the
T side, you ma,"ot get a clear focus. In
such cases, the focal point information
flashes. Press the zoom W button until the
indicator stops flashing.

Mode dial: ~/S/A/MISCN/~
The macro recording is used when
zooming up a little subject, such as
flowers, insects.

Press the control button b
(9) with the menu cleared.
The $ (macro) indicator appears
on the LCD screen.
With the zoom set to the W side,
you can shoot a subject that is
about 3 cm (1 3/16 inch) (MVC-
CDZOO) or 4 cm (1 5/8 inch)
(MVCCD300) away from the lens
surface in macro mode.
To return
to normal
recording
mode
Press the control button b (b& ) again.
The ,s indicator disappears.
Note
You cannot record images in macro with the
LANDSCAPE mode of the SCENE
SELECTION function.
