Ignition Control Board; Display Board And Keypad - Hayward H250FDN Service & Installation Manual

IGNITION CONTROL BOARD:

The ignition control board features an integral thermostat and uses special technology and software for
optimum performance of a silicon nitride igniter element. See Figure . To remove the ignition control
board:
1. Turn pump, gas supply, and heater power "OFF".
. Remove the front access panel. It is secured with
() screws. Remove the control box cover. It is
secured with () screws.
. Disconnect all wires from the ignition control
board.
. Detach the board from the sheet metal panel.
5. Replace the ignition control board. Reassembly is
the reversal of steps 1 – 5.

DISPLAy BOARD AND KEyPAD:

The display board and keypad provide the user in-
terface with the heater. See Figure . The replacement part is only available as an assembly. To remove the
display board and keypad assembly:
1. Turn pump, gas supply, and heater power "OFF".
. Remove the front access panel. It is secured with () screws
. Remove the control box cover. It is secured with () screws.
. Unplug the display connector from the ignition control board.
5. Remove the () screws along the lower edge of the bezel that retain the assembly.
. Pull the assembly forward and then lift it out.
7. Replace the assembly. Reverse steps 1 –  to complete the procedure
BLOWER VACUUM SWITCH:
The blower vacuum switch is a safety device that
prevents the ignition sequence from continuing un-
less the blower is developing sufficient airflow for
combustion. See Figure . When the blower achieves
sufficient airflow, the negative pressure created in
the blower housing closes the contacts on the blower
vacuum switch. This indicates to the ignition control
board that it is safe to continue the ignition sequence.
The tubing on the blower vacuum switch should be
attached to the blower housing pressure tap that faces
the front of the heater.
