Troubleshooting
Power failure
The device is not operational during a power failure. The internal clock stops. But all
settings are retained so that the previous status is reset when power returns. You
may need to reset the time.
Using the following table try to define the cause of a problem and solve the error.
Problem
Unit does not hang up after
caller leaves a message
No display.
Display too weak or dark.
No sound.
OGM symbol flashing.
No answer, no monitoring.
No response in PABX.
Buzzing or other interference
on loudspeaker.
Messages not recorded.
No answer, subsequent
telephone does not work.
Incorrect or no connection
when dialling from PABX.
No automatic call-back on

Appendix
Possible cause
There is not a standard hang-
up tone
No contact with mains power
supply.
Contrast set incorrectly.
Volume set to zero.
No OGM recorded.
No contact with connection
cable.
No call signal switched on.
Interference from cordless
telephone, monitor etc.
Device is set to OGM without
ICM option (message only).
Wrong connection cable,
wiring boxes incorrectly wired.
The prefix for the public
network has not been entered.
Call back code not entered,
network operator or PABX dies
not support the function or

Remedy/Recommendation
Check if you have a hang up
tone. The unit is voice
activated so if there is
speaking eg Please Hang up,
then the unit will keep on
recording. You need to contact
your telephone provider to get
the hang up tone changed.
Check all cables and plugs. If
necessary try another plug.
Set contrast.
Adjust volume.
Record an outgoing message.
Check all cables and plugs.
Check PABX programming.
Chang installation location.
Change or re-record OGM.
Only use original cables, check
wiring boxes (if nec. get a
specialist to check).
Enter prefix.
Enter call back code.
Check with network operator
or PABX as to whether
