Changing audio quality/sound field

pThe following sound effects may not be available or have no effect with some sources, or when headphones are used (> 14).
pYou may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound effects are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound effects off.
Using Subwoofer boost
Main unit only
You can enhance the subwoofer effect with strong bass.
Press [SW BOOST] on the main unit.
pThe SW BOOST indicator lights when Subwoofer Boost is turned on.
Setting the sound effects
Press [SOUND]
Press [, ] and select item for setting.

H.BASS

W. S.
SRD ENH
Press [OK].
Equalizer (EQ)
You can select sound quality settings.
Press [, ] to select the item.
Each time you press the button:
HEAVY:
Adds punch to rock.
CLEAR:
Clarifies higher sounds.
SOFT:
For background music.
FLAT:
Cancel (no effect is added).
Enhancing the bass sound (H.BASS)
You can enhance low-frequency sound so that heavy bass sound can
be heard clearly.
Press [, ] to select "ON" or "OFF".
Real Center Focus (REAL CF)
You can make the sound of the center speaker seem like it is coming
from within the TV.
Press [, ] to select "ON" or "OFF".
pThis function is effective when playing audio containing center
channel sound or when Dolby Pro Logic IIx/Dolby Pro Logic II or
DTS NEO:6 is on.
Adjusting the subwoofer level (SW. LEVEL)
You can adjust the amount of bass. The unit automatically selects the
most suitable setting according to the type of playback source.
Press [, ] to select the item.
SUB W 1: Weakest effect
SUB W 2: Middle effect
SUB W 3: Strongest effect

Surround Enhancer (SRD ENH)
This function automatically makes speaker adjustment to enhance the
surround sound effect.
Press [, ] to select "ON" or "OFF".
pThis function is effective when playing audio containing surround
channel sound or when Dolby Pro Logic IIx/Dolby Pro Logic II or
DTS NEO:6 is on.
pThis sound effect have no effect when receiving AM radio broadcast.
Using Whisper-mode Surround (W. S.)
You can enhance the surround effect for low volume 5.1-channel
sound. (Convenient for late night viewing.)
Press [, ] to select "ON" or "OFF".
pThis function is effective when playing audio containing surround
channel sound or when Dolby Pro Logic IIx/Dolby Pro Logic II or
DTS NEO:6 is on.
pThis sound effect have no effect when receiving AM radio broadcast.
Adjusting speaker level during play
Press [CH SELECT] to select the speaker.

Adjusting the balance of the front speakers

Press [, ] to adjust the balance of the front
speakers.

Adjusting the speaker level
(When other option selected)
Press [] (increase) or [] (decrease) to adjust
the speaker level for each speaker.
