• Most modern DVD players are capable of playing various types of DVD recordable
discs (media) which are currently available, such as DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW and
DVD-RW.
• Details can normally be found in the player's instruction book or on the outside of the
box.
• Unless it is indicated on the label, the type of disc can not easily be identified.
• Pirated copies of music and films are becoming widely available. Many copies
are recorded illegally using software to remove copy protection and recorded on
sub-standard discs. This can cause problems when trying to play these back on
DVD players. Known problems include;
– failing to load at all.
– pictures freezing or breaking up.
– pictures dark or fuzzy.
– incomplete additional scenes.
– sound breaking up.
• No guarantee is given or implied that pirated copies will play on this DVD player,
therefore products will not be exchanged or refunded if the only problem identified
is failing to play illegal copies.
• This does not effect your statutory rights.
