Connecting to the Network

You must connect the NIC to the network before installing
the network driver. To connect the 3C905B-TX NIC to the
network cable, follow these steps:
1 Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 port on the
3C905B-TX NIC, as shown in Figure 3.

2 Connect the other end of the network cable to a
10BASE-T or a 100BASE-TX network hub or switch.
If the appropriate LNK LED does not light, there is no
connection between the NIC and the network. Go to
Chapter 4 in the user guide for troubleshooting information.
The next step is to load the network driver that allows your
PC or server to connect to the network. Go to the
appropriate section to install the network driver.
