Battery Removal
1. Place the motorcycle on the side
stand.
2. Remove the seat by referring to the
SEAT LOCK section.
3. Remove the battery.
NOTE: Remove the negative terminal
first and then remove the positive termi-
nal.
4. To reinstall the battery, reverse the
procedure above.
CAUTION
Reversing the battery lead wires can
damage the charging system and the
battery.
The red lead must go to the positive
(+) terminal and the black (or black
with white tracer) lead must go to the
negative (–) terminal.
