RIDING TIPS

STARTING THE ENGINE

Before attempting to start the engine,
make sure:
The transmission is in neutral.
The engine stop switch is in the ""
position.
NOTE: This motorcycle has inter-lock
switches for the ignition circuit and the
starter circuit. The engine can only be
started if:
The transmission is in neutral and
the clutch is disengaged, or
The transmission is in gear, the side
stand is fully up, and the clutch is
disengaged.
When the Engine is Cold:
1. Close the throttle completely.
2. Squeeze the clutch lever and push
the electric starter button.
3. After the engine starts, let the
engine run until the engine suffi-
ciently warms up.
When the Engine is Warm:
Close the throttle completely and push
the electric starter button.
