Create currency codes
Currency codes is your measure of exchange in monetary terms, currencies are
required for your system to determine in which currency you will be measuring
your financial transactions against. Assess your base currency that your
organization utilizes before assuming the next step.
You must define a currency code for an organization. To define a currency code
for an organization, complete the following steps:
1. Open the Currency Code application for Users by selecting Goto → Financial
→Currency Code
2. Click New Row.
3. Enter a currency code, for example, USD (United States Dollar)
4. Click Save.
Disable validation options
It is advisable to disable or uncheck the validation options in order to begin
populating or importing data. Having the validation options enabled during initial
configuration, each entry made will be validated against a financial period which
at this stage of the deployment is not required. You can always revalidate these
options again at a later stage
1. Open the Financial application by selecting Goto → Financial →Chart of
Accounts.
2. Go to Select Actions.
3. Choose Validation Options.
4. Uncheck both Validate GL Component Combinations as well as Validate
Financial Periods.
5. Click OK.
Create item and company sets
Sets allow you to share Item and Companies records across Organizations,
although you can only create 1 Organization and site in Maximo Enterprise
Essentials you must still perform this step.
To define sets, complete the following steps:
1. Open the Sets application for Users by selecting Goto → Administration →.
Sets
2. Click New Row.
3. Enter a company set name, for example, COMPSET.
4. Enter COMPSET in the Type field.
