    Introduction About this Manual This manual describes the configuration environment of the MAC 201 unit based on a web interface via Ethernet connection. The scope of the configuration options is complete: start-up, settings and fault monitoring for the MAC 201 unit. The description consists of the procedure for connection and access to the configuration environment, the description of the environment and its contents, the configuration options and the interpretation of the information on the screen.

  • Page 5: Connection To The Web Interface

    Access the TCP/IP PROPERTIES of the PC and configure the following parameters: IP ADDRESS OF THE PC: 192.168.1.1 SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0 Connect the PC to the LAN port (RJ-45) of the MAC 201 unit (position 1 in the follow- ing diagram). Ethernet connector (LAN port, RJ-45)
  • Page 6 The configuration process must be made in local mode, although later you will be able to access the unit from any PC in the LAN. Launch the web browser and enter the MAC 201 unit's IP address: INITIAL IP ADDRESS: 192.168.1.6 NOTE This initial IP address may be modified by the user.

Depending on the requirements of each menu, they will consist of one or more submenus (position 9 in the above diagram).

    Select the GENERAL menu and then the CONFIGURATION submenu. Select the IDENTIFICATION tab. The IDENTIFICATION configuration tab establish- es the identification data of the MAC 201 unit. MODEL: shows the name of the model. This data cannot be modified. SERIAL NUMBER: shows the serial number of manufacture of the unit.

    Select the GENERAL menu and then the CONFIGURATION submenu. Select the NETWORK tab. The NETWORK configuration tab establishes the parameters for connecting the MAC 201 unit to the Ethernet network. MAC ADDRESS: the unit automatically shows its MAC address for connection to the network.

    Select the GENERAL menu and then the CONFIGURATION submenu. Select the FIRMWARE tab. The FIRMWARE configuration tab enables you to update the software of the MAC 201 unit. FIRMWARE VERSION: the unit automatically shows the firmware version currently installed. SELECT UPDATE FILE: click on the BROWSE button to select the firmware update...

    General General configuration/Save/restore configuration configuration/Save/restore configuration NOTE EN EN The firmware update file must be saved on the PC's hard disc (you can download it at http://www.ikusi.com). To load the new firmware click on the START button at the end of the tab. Save/restore configuration Select the GENERAL menu and then the SAVE/RESTORE submenu.

    Signal settings Inputs Select the SETTINGS menu and then the AV INPUT submenu. Select the INPUT 1 tab. The INPUT 1 tab displays the status of the AV ana- logue TV input in input AV1 and lets you modify how the audio and video components are dealt with.

    Select the SETTINGS menu and then the SER- VICE MANAGEMENT submenu. Select the SERVICE MANAGEMENT tab. The SERVICE MANAGEMENT tab lets you view and modify the services processed in the MAC 201 unit. OUTPUT SERVICES: EDIT SERVICE: click on the icon to edit the service corresponding to each input and save the SID values.

ACT. NULL: displays the current percentage of binary data in the output that does not contain information. MAX.

    Signal Signal settings/Output settings/Output INDEPENDENT TELEVISION COMMISSION: the descriptor for the UK is EN EN inserted. NORDIG MODE V1: the descriptor according to the Nordig V1 specification is inserted. NORDIG MODE V2: the descriptor according to the Nordig V2 specification is inserted.
  • Page 16 Signal settings/Output CODE RATE: configures the redundant code rate by selecting from the values 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. ATTENUATION: configures the attenuation for the radio frequency carrier signal to the output using a sliding bar to vary this value within the range of 0 dB to 47 dB. MAX BIT RATE: reports the maximum binary data speed in the output of the unit.

    Status information Status information Select the STATUS menu and then the STATUS INFORMATION submenu. Select the GENERAL tab. The GENERAL tab in STATUS IN- FORMATION shows the input status, the output status and other general unit parameters (alarms, temperature and services).
  • Page 18 Status information/Status information Select the DETAILS tab. The DETAILS tab offers a detailed on-screen report as to the general running of the unit. This report consists of four sections: GENERAL: temperature of the unit. INPUT: alarms and status of the inputs. TS PROCESSING: transport processing.
