Item 95333 Jig for Rough Turning and Hollow Cutting Tools:
This jig is for sharpening spoon gouges and similar rounded chisels.
1.
Slide the Mounting Bracket (2) on the Standard Mounting Bracket on your
grinder.
2.
Mount your spoon chisel or similar tool in the Adjustable Clamp Assembly (1).
Tighten securely using the Tightening Knob.
3.
If desired, place a bushing on the rod portion of the Adjustable Clamp
Assembly. The Bushings will limit the movement of the rod in the Mounting
Bracket during the sharpening process. This can help you sharpen more
precisely.
4.
Insert the rod of the clamp
assembly into the Mounting
Bracket. If desired, another
Bushing (3) can be attached to the
rod.
5.
Adjust the jig so the tool rests
lightly on the grinding wheel.
6.
Turn the grinder on. Lightly touch
the tool on the grinder to sharpen.
7.
You can rotate your tool on the grinding wheel by turning the rod in the
Mounting Bracket.
8.
When the tool is sharp, remove it from the grinder and turn the grinder off.
