3.8 Software Downloads

The DTV720 may be field upgraded with new application software via the
Ethernet port. During the upgrade process, the DTV720 will not be processing
signals, so it is best to take the unit offline while downloading new software.
The entire process including the upgrade and re-booting the unit requires about
1 1/2 minutes.
To perform the Ethernet upgrade of application software, you will need the fol-
lowing items:

•Utility to unzip the TFTPD32 program
•DTV upgrade software
a) Download and save the DTV software upgrade from http://
www.wegener.com/custservdownload.html to a new file called
DTVSoftware on your local computer's hard drive.
b) Download and save TFTPD32.zip to the same folder as the software
upgrade on your local computer. This is a free shareware program
available at http://tftpd32.jounin.net/.
c) If your local computer is attached to a network, it is recommended that
you disconnect the network cable from the computer and reset the
computer before proceeding to the following steps. The upgrade may
not start up correctly if the computer isn't first reset.
d) Use your unzip utility to extract the TFTPD32.exe file from
TFTPD32.zip.
