Maintaining and servicing your SD60-M
Replacing your SD60-M's lamps
our SD60-M is illuminated by two
Y
12-volt lamps. During the course
of normal operation, they
may require replacement.
Begin by removing the
SD60-M's shell; see the previ-
ous section on armature
lubrication for detailed shell-
removal information. Care-
fully lift the shell away from
the frame. Take care with the
various wiring assemblies
connected to the shell.
Locate the assembly con-
taining the expired lamp. It's
held in position by a retain-
ing clip; carefully remove the
target lamp assembly from
the retaining clip, then gently

Your Lionel SD60-M is equipped with a roof mounted flashing
strobe light, this small bulb (Lionel part no. 10-8803-009) is located
inside the cab. During the course of normal operation it may require

replacement.
Because installation requires soldering, we recommend that you have
your local Authorized Lionel Service Center perform this service.
Remove the SD60-M's shell, pull the lamp assembly
from its retaining clip, and replace the expired lamp.
pull the expired lamp from the socket.
Replace it with Lionel part no. 600-8352-
311, available from your autho-
rized Lionel Service Center or
Lionel Service. See the Lionel
Service section on page 16 for
more information. Reinstall the
shell.
Your Lionel SD60-M is
equipped with ocillating ditch
lights. These small bulbs
(Lionel part no. 10-8232-009)
are located in the pilot.
During the course of normal
operation they may require
replacement. We recommend
that you have your local
Authorized Lionel Service
Center perform this service.
