Bluetooth Profiles
All the Bluetooth settings you configure are stored in your
phone's Bluetooth user profile. Different profiles can be used
for specific Bluetooth functions.
HSP: Headset Profile – This profile functions as a wireless ear
jack. When an incoming call is received, the ringer can be
heard through the headset instead of through the phone.
The call can then be received by pushing a button. While
using your phone, you can use the headset instead of the
phone by pushing a button on the headset, which has the
same effect as inserting a jack into the phone. Increase or
decrease the volume by using the volume key on the left
side of the phone.
Note: To cycle among the phone's earpiece, speakerphone and a Bluetooth
headset during a call, press
HFP: Hands-Free Profile – This profile functions as a wireless
car kit. Incoming calls ring to the hands-free headset or
device. Calls can be received by pressing a button on the
headset or device. For dialing, four functions are supported:
recent call dial, voice dial, speed dial, and number dial.
Increase or decrease the volume by using the volume key
on the left side of the phone.
DUN: Dial-Up Network Profile – This profile functions as a
wireless data cable, connecting a computer or PDA to a
network through your phone.
OPP: Object Push Profile – This profile uses the Generic Object
Exchange profile services to send data objects between
devices and can be used to exchange business cards
(vCard), Contacts (vCard), and calendar (vCal).
BPP: Basic Printing Profile – This profile enables simpler
printing from your phone to a Bluetooth-enabled printer.
PBAP: Phone Book Access Profile – This profile enables
exchange of Contacts information between devices. It is
typically used between a car kit and a mobile phone to allow
the car kit to display the name of the incoming caller.
