Zone Edit Sub Menu
Zone
There are 4 Keyboard zones available. Choose 1-4 to edit the corresponding keyboard zone.
Low Note / High Note
These set the Low and High note settings for each keyboard zone. These can be set using the standard way of moving any
control below the entry on the LCD, or by pressing the desired note on the keyboard.
To use the keyboard to set the high and low note values, first touch a control below the corresponding entry on the LCD so
that a square flashes next to the note value on the LCD. Now press the desired keyboard note.
Note that Zones can be set with the high and low notes overlapping, or set so that high note is adjacent to the low note of
the next zone, or with a gap in between thus disabling an area of the keyboard.
Transpose - Trnspose
Sets the transpose amount in semitones for the keyboard zone (range -64 to +63 semitones).
Velocity Curve - VelCurve
Sets how the keyboard zone responds to incoming velocity (see previous page for more info)
MIDI Channel - MidiChan
Sets the output MIDI Channel for the selected zone.
Ports
Sets the output Ports for the selected zone.
Additional Zone Options
Pressing the illuminated page up button accesses additional zone options:
Zone
This is a duplicate of the Zone setting on the first page of the Keyboard Zones Menu and selects the keyboard zone whose
settings you are currently editing.
AfterTch ExpPedal SusPedal PitchBnd ModWheel
These options set whether or not aftertouch, expression pedal, sustain pedal, pitch bend and modulation wheel messages
will be sent from the currently selected zone.
Each option can be set to ON or OFF.
For example, you may want to set the Sustain pedal to ON for all Zones, however, the Mod Wheel to be set to ON for
just one zone.
Note that the SL MkII has a channel aftertouch mechanism (not polyphonic aftertouch) meaning that any keyboard key you
press, whether it is within the zone range or not, will cause aftertouch messages to be sent using the MIDI channel and
ports settings for the that zone.
