Refer to the vehicle's Tyre and
Loading Information label for
specific information about the
vehicle's capacity weight and
seating positions. The combined
weight of the driver, passengers,
and cargo should never exceed
the vehicle's capacity weight.
Certification Label
A vehicle-specific Certification
label is attached to the vehicle's
centre pillar (B-pillar). The label
shows the maximum laden mass
of the vehicle, maximum laden
mass when towing (when
required), and the maximum
permitted mass of each axle.
This is the Gross Vehicle Weight
Rating (GVWR) and includes
the weight of the vehicle, all
occupants, fuel, and cargo.
Never exceed the GVWR for the
vehicle or the Gross Axle Weight
Rating (GAWR) for either the
front or rear axle.
Spread out heavy loads equally
on both sides of the vehicle.
See "Steps for Determining
Correct Load Limit" earlier in
this section.
If you put things inside the
vehicle - like suitcases, tools,
packages, or anything else -
they will go as fast as the
vehicle goes. If you have to
stop or turn quickly, or if there is
a crash, they will keep going.
