• A loose cuff or a sideways pro t ruding air pocket causes false measurement values.
• With repeated measurements, blood accumulates in the arm, which can lead to false re s u l t s .
Consecutive blood pre s s u re measurements should be repeated after a 1 minute pause or after your
a rm has been held up in order to allow the accumulated blood to flow away. If you decide to take your
Averaging Mode measurement again, be sure to wait at least one minute before h a n d .
5.3. Fitting the rigid Cuff (6023 model only)
a ) The cuff is pre - f o rmed for easier use. Remove tight or bulky
clothing from your upper arm.
b ) Wrap the cuff around your upper left arm. The rubber tube should
be on the inside of your arm extending downward to your hand.
Make certain the cuff lies approximately 1/2" to 3/4" (1 to 2 cm) above the elbow.
I m p o rtant! The red strip on the edge of the cuff (Art e ry Mark)
must lie over the art e ry which runs down the inner side of the arm .
c ) To secure the cuff, wrap it around your arm and press the velcro together.
d ) T h e re should be little free space between your arm and the cuff. You should
be able to fit 2 fingers between your arm and the cuff. Cuffs that don't fit
p roperly result in false measurement values. Measure your arm
c i rc u m f e rence if you are not sure of proper fit.
e ) Lay your arm on a table (palm upward) so the cuff is at the same height as
your heart. Make sure the tube is not kinked.
f ) Remain seated quietly for at least two minutes before you begin the
m e a s u re m e n t .
Fitting the D-Bar Cuff (6021, 6022 models)
a ) Pass the end of the cuff through the flat metal ring so that a loop is formed.
The velcro closure must be facing outward. (Ignore this step if the cuff has
a l ready been pre p a re d . )
b ) Place the cuff over the left upper arm so that the tube is closer to your
lower arm .
c ) Lay the cuff on the arm as illustrated. Make certain that the lower edge of the
c u ff lies approximately 3/4" to 1" (2 to 3cm) above the elbow and that the
tube is closer to the inner side of the arm .

5.5. Detector de Latido Irre g u l a r
El símbolo

Este instumento es un monitor oscilométrico de presión sanguinea que también analiza la frecuencia del
pulso durante la medición. El instrumento está clínicamente analizado.
Si durante la medición ocurren irregularidades del pulso, se observará el símbolo de latido irre g u l a r. Si
el símbolo aparece con mas frecuencia (ej. Varias veces a la semana en lecturas diarias) or si apare c e
repentinamente con mas frecuencia que lo usual, recomendamos al paciente consultar con su médico.
Este instrumento no reemplaza un examen cardiado, pero sirve el propósito de detectar irre g u l a r i d a d e s
del pulso a temprana edad.
