Hard disk drive indicators
Figure 10: Indicators on the 3.5 inch and 2.5 inch HDD modules
1 HDD BUSY (green)
– Lit: HDD in active phase (drive active, drive being accessed)
– Does not light: HDD inactive
2 HDD FAULT (orange)
(in conjunction with a RAID controller)
SAS server variant
– Does not light: no HDD error
– On: HDD Faulty (drive defective/needs replacing, drive failed, drive
deactivated by software or the HDDmodule is not correctly inserted)
– Slow flashing: HDD Rebuild (the data is being restored after
changing a drive)
– Fast flashing: HDD Identify
SATA server variant
– Does not light: no HDD error
– On: HDD Faulty or Rebuild Stopped (drive defective and must be
replaced, a rebuild process was stopped or the module is not
correctly inserted)
– Slow flashing: HDD Rebuild (the data is being restored after
changing a drive)
– Fast flashing: HDD Identify
