Displays the operating frequency.
Touch the MHz digits to enter the Band selection
screen.
Touch the MHz digits for 1 second to turn the 1
MHz quick tuning mode ON or OFF.
Touch the kHz digits to turn the preset kHz quick
tuning mode ON or OFF.
Touch the kHz digits for 1 second to enter the Tun-
ing step selection screen.
Touch the Hz digits to for 1 second to toggle be-
tween 10 Hz and 1 Hz steps.
!3 VFO/MEMORY ICONS (p. 3-4)
"VFOA" or "VFOB" appears whether VFO A or
VFO B is selected.

Shows the selected memory channel, scan edge
channel or Call channel.
• Memory bank indicator (A to E) appears to the left of
memory channel.

!6 INFORMATION READOUT
Displays the transmit frequency of the Split opera-
tion, descriptions of the memory channel or Re-
ceived Call sign in the DV mode, and so on.
!7 FUNCTION DISPLAY (p. 1-10)
Shows the function of the Touch keys.

to change the set of functions assigned to

• Toggles the function display menu between M-1, M-2 and
M-3 menus or D-1 and D-2 menus.
!8 MULTI-FUNCTION METER INDICATION
➥ Displays the signal strength while receiving.
➥ Displays the relative output power, SWR, ALC or
compression levels while transmitting.
➥ When the Meter Peak Hold function is ON, the
peak level of a received signal strength or the
output power is displayed for approximately 0.5
seconds.
➥ Touch to select the RF power, SWR, ALC or Com-
pression meter.
➥ Touch for 1 second to display the Multi-function
meter.
