5. STARTING THE ENGINE (EMERGENCY STARTING)

5. If your outboard motor is a remote
control type, engage the emergency
stop switch clip (located at one end
of the emergency stop switch lanyard)
with the emergency stop switch.
Turn the ignition switch key to the ON
position.

A spare emergency stop switch clip is
provided on remote control box (side-
mount type) or in the tool bag (panel-
mount and top mount type).

6. If the engine is cold or the ambient
temperature is low, pull the manual
choke knob located on the front of
the outboard motor.
