16 Preparing the camera for use

Installing the battery

Use only the specified battery for the camera, and always turn off the camera
before removing the battery.
To install the battery:
1. Unlock and open the battery/card cover.
2. Fully insert the battery in the correct direction by matching the polarity label
on the battery slot.
3. Close and lock the battery/card cover.
