Troubleshooting

Before servicing and making connections . . .
ALWAYS TURN POWER OFF TO THE
BOILER TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL
SURGES, WHICH CAN DAMAGE BOIL-
ER COMPONENTS
Before calling, always complete the "SlimFit Gas
Data Collection Sheet" (page 111).
Record the boiler size and CP number (located on
boiler top jacket panel, next to the air inlet connec-
tion).

Remove 4 screws to remove the top front
#2 Phillips Screwdriver

1/16" flat blade
Used for wiring on terminal blocks for the
screwdriver
U-Control (comes with boiler)
3/16" Allen Wrench
To remove gas valve pressure tap plugs
(Hex Key)
13 mm Nut driver/
To remove the heat exchanger cleanout
ratchet
plate, mixing tube or blower
3 mm Allen wrench
To adjust gas valve throttle
(Hex Key)
4 mm Allen wrench
To add orifice to change from natural to
(Hex Key)

Before troubleshooting:
2. Check for 120 VAC (minimum 102 VAC
to maximum 132 VAC) to boiler.

Manometer

Combustion analyzer

Contact thermometer
T40 Torx driver

ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
ON/OFF switch does not turn off all power to
the boiler.
TURN OFF ALL POWER TO THE
BOILER WHEN SERVICING
is still powered when the switch is off.
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servic-
ing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and
dangerous operation. Always disconnect power to
boiler before servicing. Failure to comply could
result in severe personal injury, death or substantial
property damage.
Never jumper (bypass) any device except for mo-
mentary testing. Severe personal injury, death or
substantial property damage can result.
3. Follow the instructions on page  62 to
use the Sola display to review lockout
and alert events.
Purpose
To access combustion system and heat
exchanger assembly, blower or mixing tube
To take measurement readings on sensors
and electrical components
To measure the gas pressure coming to the
boiler.
For combustion testing.
For checking surface temperatures of heat
exchanger and pipes
For gas valve offset adjustment
For gas piping to venturi
