The following messages are displayed when
certain problems are occurring in your sys-
tem. Take the recommended actions.
Protect
The speaker wire has a short-curcuit or touches
the chassis of the vehicle, and then the protection
functoin is activated.
] Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and
press the Reset button.
Hot Error
The protection circuit in the unit activates when the
temperature inside the unit exceeds 60°C (140°F),
stopping all operation.
] Cool down the unit by opening the windows or
turning on the air conditioner. As the temperature
falls below 60°C (140°F), the disc will start playing
again.
Region Code Error
The DVD software encoded for other region code.
"Error01-01" to "Error01-09",
"Error02-10" to "Error02-17", "Error02-23",
"Error02-24", "Error02-30" to "Error02-35",
"Error02-60" to "Error02-74", "Error01-0A"
The disc is upside-down.
] Load the disc with the labeled side up.
The disc is quite dirty.
] Clean the disc, referring to the section on <Disc
cleaning> (page 15).
The disc is scratched a lot.
] Use a different disc.
"Error01-03"
"Error02-18", "Error02-20", "Error02-21",
"Error02-40", "Error02-50", "Error02-1F"
The disc is recorded with a format that this unit can't
support.
Something is wrong with the disc.
"Error02-19", "Error02-1A"
The parental level (rating) of the DVD software is set
higher than the levels you set with this unit.
"Error02-05"
A scene exceeding the set parental level (rating) is
contained.
] Enter the password.
Troubleshooting Guide
• If any other message is displayed, press the Reset button on
the unit. If the error code does not disappear or the same
error code reappears, contact the Kenwood dealer.
