Before Starting the Electric Motor
1. Warningdecals
a) Makesure all warningdecalsare legibleand securelyattached.
b) Replaceas necessary.
2. Tires
a) Ensurethat bothtires haveat least3ram(.12 inches)treaddepthat
center.
b) Bothtiresmustbe inflatedto the pressureindicatedon the tire
sidewalls.
c) Replacethetires iftread heightis lessthen 1ram(0.04inches)at the
centerof tires.
3. Pedalchain
a) Checkconditionand tension.
b) Lubricateand adjusttensionas necessary.
4. Throttle
a) Checkfor smoothoperation.Makesurethe throttle"snaps" backto idle.
b) Checkfor frayed cableor damagedcablehousing.Replacedamaged
cable.
c) Checkfor mud,debrisand ice in thethrottlecable/mechanism. Cleanout
any contamination.
5. Fasteners
a) Checkthatall axlenuts aresecure.
b) Checkfor missingfasteners. Replaceas necessary.
c) Checkthatall otherfasteners are secure.Tightenas necessary.
6. Steering
a) Makesure steeringturnsfreely.
b) Lubricate/adjust as necessary. S ee theMaintenance section.
7. Frame/chassis
Checkfor bent/damaged frame/chassis components. R eplaceas necessary.
8. Battery
Checkthe clampbar and connections are tightand corrosion-free.
9. Lights
Checkfor properoperation.Replacebulbsas necessary.
