Operation Starting the electric motor Charger Outlet 1. Makesure batteryhasfully beencharged. NOTE:If batteryneedsto be charged turn masterswitch(1) to "ON" and plugchar- ger intooutletbelowseat cushion. A lightwill illuminate on thechargerto show thatbatteryis beingcharged.Whenthe batteryhasa full chargea greenlightwill illuminate. NOTICE: To protect the environment, dispose of old/used batteries at a certified battery disposal location.

Operation (continued) Main On/Off switch The mainon/offswitchcontainsthree positions: • ON (1):The motorcanstart,the key cannotbe removed. • OFF (2):This positionshutsoff themotorand allowsyou to removethe key. • LOCK(3): Fromthe OFFposition,pushinward and turnthe key counterclockwise t othe LOCK positionwhileturningthe steeringcolumntothe left and shakingit lightlyto engagethesteeringlock. Removekey.
Operation (continued) Brake Levers and Throttle • Rearbrake (4):Whenstoppingthevehicle,squeezetherear brake smoothly and firmly. Alwaysengagethe rearbrakefirst. • Frontbrake(5): Squeezethe levergentlyat first to avoidlockingthe front wheel.Mostof you stoppingpowercomesfrom the front wheel, whichshouldalwaysbe usedto supplement t he rearwheel. WARNING!USEEXTREMECAUTIONWHENENGAGING THE FRONT BRAKETOAVOIDLOCKINGTHE FRONTWHEEL.LOCKINGTHE FRONT WHEELCANCAUSEA SERIOUSACCIDENT.
Maintenance(continued) Brakes FRONTHYDRAULIC DISKBRAKEINSPECTION 1. Inspectfront disk brakecaliper(1) for leakage. If brakefluid leaks,the safetyof riding couldbe affected. 2. Inspectthebrakehose (2) for cracks,andthe jointfor leakage. 3. Checkthe brakefluid levelthroughthesighthoe on front of brakefluid reservoir(3) 4. To add brakefluid, unscrewthe 2 screws(4) on top of the bakefluid containerlocatedundertop plasticcowling.Add DOT3or DOT4brakefluid.
