Port ID Numbering

Each computer on the installation is assigned a unique port ID. The port ID is
a one or two segment number that is determined by the stage level and port
number of the switch that the computer is connected to. The first segment
represents the stage level of the switch (04, for example); the second segment
represents the number of the port that the computer is plugged into.
For example, a computer that is connected to KVM port 3 of a switch that is in
the 12th position of the daisy chain, would have a port ID of 12-03.
Note: Single digit numbers (1–9) are padded with a preceding zero (0).

USB Peripheral Devices

A USB port, located on the keyboard module's front panel, is available to
connect a USB peripheral device (flash drive, CD-ROM drive, printer, etc.) to
the CL5808/CL5816. Any computer connected to the CL5808/CL5816 can
access the USB peripheral on a one-at-a-time basis. The peripheral device is
available to computers connected to the CL5808/CL5816 on the same level
only, and is not available to computers connected to daisy chained switches.
The USB peripheral device is automatically detected on target computers when
switching ports on the CL5808/CL5816. For example, when switching from a
computer connected to port 1 to a computer connected to port 2, the peripheral
device automatically disconnects from the computer on port 1 and connects to
the computer on port 2.
Note: The USB peripheral function only works with USB cable set
connections. It will not work with PS/2 cable set connections.
