Some tips that may be helpful:
1. Condenser microphones do not like moisture!
The NT1000, like all studio microphones,
should be kept dry at all times. The capsule
will be subjected to a lot of moisture during
vocal applications, and we strongly suggest
the use of a 'Pop-Stop' type screen for all vocal
work.
2. This microphone is a precision transducer and
should be cared for as such. Dropping, or
knocking the NT1000 could damage it so
please take care. Fix the microphone securely
to a dedicated microphone stand using either
the Stand Mount (M2) supplied, or the optional
Shock Mount (SM2).
3. After use, the NT1000 should be removed
from its stand, wiped with a dry soft cloth and
placed in its protective pouch. Be sure to place
the pack of moisture-absorbent crystals (silica
gel) at the head of the microphone. The
crystals will absorb any moisture present.
Eventually this pack will need to be dried.
When the crystals have turned pink, the pack
should be placed in an oven set to between
100-150 degrees C. They will be activated
when they have turned blue.
Note: There are no user-serviceable parts inside
this microphone and so there will never be a
reason for you to dismantle it. To protect your
warranty, any service that requires dismantling
must be performed by a qualified
agent.
