8 8 In order to prevent clutch slip-
page (since the engine oil also
lubricates the clutch), do not
mix any chemical additives.
Do not use oils with a diesel
specification of "CD" or oils of
a higher quality than specified.
In addition, do not use oils
labeled "ENERGY CONSERV-
ING
II " or higher.
8 8 Make sure that no foreign
material enters the crankcase.

1. Bleed bolt
13. Start the engine, and then let it
idle for several minutes while
checking it for oil leakage. If oil is
leaking, immediately turn the
engine off and check for the
cause.
14. Turn the engine off, and then
check the oil level and correct it if
necessary.

After changing the engine oil,
make sure to check the oil pres-
sure as described below.

8 Remove the bleed bolt.
8 Start the engine and keep it
idling until oil flows out. If no
oil
comes
out
after
minute, turn the engine off
immediately so it will not
seize. If this occurs, have a
Yamaha dealer repair the vehi-
cle.
8 After checking the oil pres-
sure, tighten the bleed bolt to
the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
Bleed bolt:
7 Nm (0.7 m0kgf, 5.0 ft0lbf)
