3.10.1 How Caller ID is displayed
The calling party's telephone number will be
displayed after the first ring. You then have the
option of whether or not to answer the call
depending on the caller.
The unit will automatically store the caller
information and you can view it (page 33).
When new calls have been received, the display
will show the number of new calls.
Note:
L When you receive a call from the same
telephone number you stored with a name in
the phonebook, the display will show the
stored name.
L If the unit is connected to a PBX (Private
Branch Exchange) system, you may not
receive the caller information. Consult your
PBX supplier.
L If the unit cannot receive caller information,
the following will be displayed:
"OUT OF AREA": The caller dialled from an
area which does not provide Caller ID
service.
"PRIVATE": The caller requested not to send
caller information.
Visual Call Waiting (Call Waiting ID)
Service
If you hear a call-waiting tone during a
conversation with the handset, the handset
display will show the second caller's information.
Press {R} on the handset to answer the second
call.
L The first call is put on hold and you can
answer the second call.
L To return to the first caller, press {R} again.
Note:
L Please contact your telephone company for
details and availability of this service in your
area.
3.11 Viewing and calling
back using caller
information (Handset only)
Up to 50 different caller's telephone numbers are
stored from the most recent call to the oldest call.
When the 51st call is received, the oldest caller
information is cleared.
You can easily view caller information and call
back.
Important:
L Calling back will not be possible in the
following cases:
– The telephone number includes data
other than numbers (i.e. * or #).
– The caller information does not
include a telephone number.
L To prevent battery consumption, be sure
to press {ih} if a busy tone sounds
when/after using the handset.

Lift the handset and press {v}.

Press {v} to search from the most recent
caller information.
Example:
L (1) means this call has already been
viewed or answered.

Press {C} to call back the displayed party.
L The unit will start dialling automatically.
Display while viewing
When no calls have been received, the display
will show "NO ITEM".
To stop viewing
Press {ih} after step 2.
