Using a Card

OPEN
A Card can be used to record still pictures.
≥Use genuine card only.

ª Inserting a Card
Before inserting a Card, be sure to turn off the Movie Camera.

Removing the Card
Open the Card Slot Cover and press the centre of the Card and then pull it
straight out.
≥After removing the Card, close the Card Slot Cover.
ª [ACCESS] Lamp 1
While the Movie Camera is making an access to the Card (reading,
recording, playback, erasing or moving of images), the [ACCESS] Lamp
lights up.
≥While the [ACCESS] Lamp is on, never attempt to open the Card Slot
Cover, to pull out the Card, to turn off the Movie Camera, or to switch the
[TAPE/CARD] Selector. Such actions will damage the Card, cause loss of
recorded data and cause the Movie Camera to malfunction.

Recording on a Card

Still pictures can be recorded on a Card from the Movie Camera lens as well
as from scenes that have already been recorded on a cassette.

≥When the [TAPE/CARD] Selector is set to [CARD], you cannot record to the
Tape.

Maximum number of images recordable on the supplied Card (8MB)
[FINE] (high image quality): approximately 45 pictures
[NORMAL] (normal image quality): approximately 85 pictures
[ECONOMY] (low image quality): approximately 180 pictures

CARD Mode

Slide the [OPEN] Lever and open the Card Slot Cover.
While holding the Memory Card with its cut corner facing
right, insert it into the Card Slot.
Close the Card Slot Cover securely.
Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector towards [CARD].
Press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.
≥If nothing is recorded for approximately 6 minutes, the Movie Camera is
turned off automatically.
Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector towards [CARD].
Start playback and set the Movie Camera to Still Playback
Mode at the scene you wish to record, and press the
[PHOTO SHOT] Button.
Set [CAMERA FUNCTIONS] or [VCR FUNCTIONS] >>
[CARD SETUP] >> [PICTURE QUALITY] >> a desired image
quality.
