Installation of SNMP Service (on Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core)
If you use Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core, install the SNMP service as follows;
a)
Run "Start /w ocsetup SNMP-SC" on the command prompt.
b)
Run " netsh firewall add portopening protocol = UDP port = 161 name = snmp mode
= ENABLE scope = ALL" on the command prompt.
Configuration of SNMP Service
a)
Press the "Start" button, highlight "Settings", and select "Control Panel".
b)
Double click on the "Administrative Tools" icon.
c)
Double click on the "Services" icon.
d)
Highlight the "SNMP Service", select the "Properties" from the "Action" menu. Set
the following SNMP configuration parameters in "Traps" page:
– Community Name
– Trap Destinations
e)
Set the following SNMP configuration parameters in "Security" page:
– Accepted community names
– Accept SNMP packets from any host
NOTE:
the "Security" page, please add the loop back IP address (127.0.0.1) in
addition to the hosts to be added.
When setting "Rights" of the "Accepted community names", please
select "READ_WRITE" or "READ_CREATE"
The NEC ESMPRO Agent needs to communicate with SNMP service
through the loop back IP address locally.
Configuration of SNMP Service (on Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core)
If you use Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core, you should change the Configuration of SNMP
Service from other computer as follows;
a)
Run the following commands from the command prompt on the Windows Server
2008 R2 Server Core system:
– "netsh firewall set service FILEANDPRINT enable SUBNET"
– "netsh firewall set service REMOTEADMIN enable SUBNET"
b)
Run the following commands from the command prompt on the other computer:
When "Accept SNMP packets from these hosts" is checked on
