To disassemble the Vermont Castings Defiant 1975 for moving:

1. Remove the inner cover by pulling it straight out.
2. Remove the catalyst by gently pulling it straight out, and place it where the ceramic components will not be damaged.
3. Remove any dislodged or loose internal parts such as the bypass baffle.
4. If needed, clean parts like the bypass mechanism to ensure smooth movement.
5. Larger parts such as the griddle handle, damper handle, and air control lever may need to be detached, depending on the model and access.

Take care not to damage ceramic or cast parts during removal.
