In any backlight mode, you can press and hold
the backlight on full time. Press
Follow these steps to change the backlight mode and duration:
1. If the scanner is on, turn it off and back on again. Welcome message ap-
pears in the scanner's display.

3, 5, 10, or 20 sets the backlight mode for normal operation for the selected
duration. Selecting K3, K5, K10, or K20 sets the backlight mode for Keypress
operation for the selected duration. Selecting I3, I5, I10, or I20 sets the back-
light mode for Ignore operation for the selected duration. Press ENT to store
your selection.

Using the Keylock

Once you program your scanner, you can protect it from accidental program
changes by turning on the key lock feature. When the keypad is locked, the
only controls that operate are FUNC,
You cannot activate the keylock while you are entering a frequency into a chan-
nel.
To turn on the keylock, press FUNC then
second. Key locked. appears when you press any key after locking the key-
pad.
To turn off the keylock, press FUNC then
and Key unlocked. appears.

Changing the Display Contrast

1. Press MAN.
2. Press FUNC then 9. Use Up/Down keys to set contrast, ENTER key saves.
