Using the Zoom

You can use the zoom to change the captured area.

Turn the zoom lever in A mode.
Right (5) Enlarges the subject.
Left (6)
If you continue turning the lever to the right
(5), the camera automatically switches

from optical zoom to Intelligent Zoom and
stops at the point it switches to Digital
Zoom.
Once the lever is released and turned
again, the camera switches to Digital
Zoom.
The zoom bar is displayed as follows:
*1 You can zoom in to a maximum of 26× optically (4.0 mm -104.0 mm
(Approx. 22.3 mm - 580 mm in 35 mm equivalent focal length)).
*2 The Intelligent Zoom range differs depending on the number of
recorded pixels. See the following table.
