Turn On Or Off The Answering Machine - ClearSounds A500 User Manual

If you do not answer the second caller and the caller
leaves a message, the message becomes a voicemail.
To set up your phone in this way, you must set the number
of "rings before pickup" for the answering machine to be
less than the number of rings before voicemail pickup. The
number of rings before voicemail pickup is determined
when you set up voicemail with your service provider.

Turn on or off the answering machine

The answering machine records incoming messages and
memos. The answering machine factory default is off.
You must turn on the answering machine to record
messages, but you can record memos even if the
answering machine is turned off.
When the answering machine is on, the base screen
shows the number of stored messages (red digits).
You can turn on or off the answering machine simply at
the base, or through the handset menus.
