Operating the VS-42H Operating the VS-42H This section describes how to: • Acquire the EDID (see section 7.1) • Store and recall a setting (see section 7.2) • Control the machine via RS-232 (see section 7.3) • Control the machine via the ETHERNET port (see section 7.4)
Operating the VS-42H 5. Press the LOCK button. The INPUT buttons blink in sequence until the EDID is acquired. To reset to the default EDID, disconnect the outputs and repeat the above steps. Storing and Recalling a Setting You can use the STO and RCL buttons to store the current setup and then recall it.
7.4.1 Connecting the ETHERNET Port directly to a PC (Crossover Cable) You can connect the Ethernet port of the VS-42H to the Ethernet port on your PC, via a crossover cable with RJ-45 connectors. This type of connection is recommended for identification of the factory default IP Address of the VS-42H during the initial configuration 1 After connecting the Ethernet port, you have to install and configure your Ethernet Port.
Operating the VS-42H After connecting the Ethernet port, configure your PC as follows: 1. Right-click the My Network Places icon on your desktop. 2. Select Properties. 3. Right-click Local Area Connection Properties. 4. Select Properties. The Local Area Connection Properties window appears.
