Clearances To Combustibles

Due to high surface and radiant
temperatures, the Sterling should be
located out of traffic and away from
furniture and draperies. Clothing and
other flammable material should not
be placed on or near the Sterling
heater.
Always
maintain
clearances around the air openings
into the combustion chamber and
allow for adequate ventilation. When
positioning the unit be sure to
consider the need for access to the gas
control valve access door on the lower
right side of the unit as well as full
access for periodic cleaning and
servicing.
Minimum
clearances
combustibles must be maintained as
shown in Figures 1-4. Note that the
rear clearance to combustibles will be
determined by either the unit's or vent
pipe's minimum clearance, depending
on whether the installation calls for a
top exit (vertical) vent within the room or a rear exit (horizontal), through-the-wall vent.
