The GE NetworX NX-148E keypad may beep for several reasons related to the battery change. It could be indicating a low battery condition, a missing transmitter (if a wireless device is used), or another system trouble such as AC power failure or expander trouble. If the beeping continues after replacing the battery, ensure the battery is properly connected and adequately charged. If the issue persists, a system reset may be required.
