Setting up Installing a saw blade CAUTION. Always ensure that the saw is switched off and unplugged from the mains supply before installing or removing a blade. Wear work gloves when replacing a blade. 1. Loosen the blade clamp (4) by depressing the clamp lever (12).
2. With the pendulum control (2) set at position , the blade swings up and down as well as moving backwards and forwards. This “pendulum action cutting” is very efficient when cutting softer materials. Note. Pendulum action cutting can leave a rough finish. Use a file or rasp to clean up the cut edge if necessary.
4. Mark out the cutting line. 5. Squeeze the trigger. 6. Select the speed with control (9). 7. Place the shoe on the workpiece and begin sawing. Note. Use only enough pressure to keep the saw cutting. Do not force the cutting; allow the blade and the saw to do the work.
Maintenance WARNING. Always ensure that the tool is switched off and the plug is removed from the power point before making any adjustments or maintenance procedures. Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time. Cleaning 1.
