Basic Setup
Selecting a Telephone Line
TEL-LINE allows you to set default telephone line. The line you
select will be used when you make a call. If you select AUTO, the
phone will default to whichever line is currently free.
1.
Press the MENU soft key. Select the HANDSET SETUP or
BASE SETUP menu, and then the Set TEL LINE submenu.
2.
Move the cursor to select AUTO, LINE1, or LINE2.
3.
Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Changing the Dial Mode
Your phone can communicate with the telephone network in two
different ways: tone dialing or pulse dialing. Nowadays, most
phone networks use a method called tone dialing, so your phone
comes programmed for tone dialing. If your phone company
uses pulse dialing, you will need to change your phone's dial
mode. If you don't get a dial tone or cannot connect to the
telephone network, please follow the steps below to modify your
phone's settings:
1.
Press the MENU soft key.
2.
Select the GLOBAL SETUP menu, and then the DIAL MODE
submenu.
3.
Move the cursor to select
soft key.
4.
Move the cursor to select PULSE. (The initial setting is
TONE).
5.
Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.
