    ® Mac OS 9.1-9.2 ® A wireless network connection is supported only between the Brother machine and an access point for PC’s running Windows NT ® Workstation 4.0 and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. To use the Brother machine through a network, you need to configure the print server, and set up the computers you use.

    Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to manage network devices including computers, routers and Brother network ready machines. Web server (HTTP) The Brother print server is equipped with a built in web server that allows you to monitor its status or change its configuration settings.     Introduction File Transfer Protocol (FTP) allows the Brother machine to scan black and white or color documents directly to an FTP server located locally on your network or on the internet. LDAP Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) allows the Brother machine to search for information such as fax numbers and E-mail addresses from an LDAP server.

    Confirm your network environment The setup process will be different depending on your network environment. Configuration using SecureEasySetup™. If your wireless access point supports SecureEasySetup™, you do not need to use a computer to configure the printer. The access point (router) and your machine can automatically negotiate using the SecureEasySetup™ procedure.

    Wireless networks use channels. Each wireless channel is on a different frequency. When configuring your Brother device to work in a wireless network, you must set it to the channel that is used on the wireless network that you are connecting to. There are up to 14 different channels that can be used when using a wireless network.
