Symptom
The map continually reorients itself.
Tracking marks are not displayed.
The daylight display is used even
when the vehicle lights are on.
The system will not switch on or will
not operate.
The display is very dim.
No sounds are heard.
The volume level will not rise.
Adjusting the volume of navigation
guidance and beeps is not possible.
A strange sound is heard when the
vehicle comes close to a certain
place. (E.g. Dog barking)
Slope is not displayed on the
Vehicle Dynamics screen.
Inclination does not move on the 3D
Calibration Status screen.
The person on the other end of the
phone call cannot hear the conversa-
tion due to an echo.
When the screen is frozen...
Park your vehicle in a safe place, and cut off the engine. Turn the ignition key back to "Acc off". Then
start the engine again, and turn the power to the navigation system back on. If this does not solve the
problem, press the RESET button on the navigation system.

Cause
The navigation system is installed
with an extreme angle exceeding the
limitation of the installation angle.
Indication of the position of your vehi-
cle is misaligned after a U-turn or
reversing.
The travelling direction is set to
Heading Up.
The "Tracking Display" is turned
off.
"Daytime" is set to "Day/Night Dis-
play".
The orange/white lead is not con-
nected.
Installation or connection has been
carried out incorrectly.
The vehicle's light is turned ON, and
"Illuminated" is selected on "Day/
Night Display".
The vehicle cabin temperature is
extremely low.
Picture quality adjustment of the dis-
play is not correct.
The volume level is low.
The attenuator or mute is on.
The speaker lead is disconnected.
You cannot adjust them with the
VOLUME knob.
The sound for the entry of "Address
Book" is set.
The speed pulse lead is not con-
nected.
The voice from the person on the
other end of the phone call is output
from the speakers and then picked
up by the microphone again, creat-
ing an echo.
Action (See)
Confirm the installation angle. (The
navigation system must be installed
within the allowed installation angle.
For details, refer to "Installation Man-
ual".)
Check whether or not the reverse
gear signal input lead (purple) is con-
nected properly. (The navigation sys-
tem works properly without the lead
connected, but positioning accuracy
will be adversely affected.)
Touch
on the screen and change
the map display.
Check the "Tracking Display" set-
tings (
Page 63) and make sure
"Always" or "This Trip" is selected.
Check the "Day/Night Display" set-
ting (
Page 64) and make sure
"Illuminated" is selected.
Check the connection.
Check with your dealer.
Read about the "Day/Night Dis-
play" setting (
Page 64) and, if
desired, select "Daytime".
A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is
used, and such displays tend to
darken when cold. Wait for the vehi-
cle to warm up.
Refer to "Operating the Picture
Adjustment" to adjust the picture
quality.
Adjust the volume level.
Turn the attenuator or mute off.
Check the connection.
Turn the volume up or down accord-
ing to "Volume" (
Page 61) in the
"Settings" menu.
Set the sound setting of that entry to
"No Sound". (
Page 50)
Connect the speed pulse lead.
Use the following methods to reduce
the echo.
– Lower the volume on the receiver
– Have both speakers pause
slightly before speaking
