PTY Display Function (Station Name and Information Display)
When the PTY button is pressed, the PTY display function turns on. The PTY
indicator will light on the display as a reminder. This function lets you know
the type of programs the selected RDS station is broadcasting. For example, if
the station is broadcasting CLASSIC, ''CLASSIC'' is shown in the display. If it is
a station of culture programs, ''CULTURE'' will be shown. The principal PTYs
are shown in the following.
INFO: General information and advice.
POP: Commercial music of popular appeal.
CLASSIC: Serious classics; performances of major orchestral works.
OTHER M: Other types of music, such as, Jazz, R & B, Folk, Country, Reggae.
CULTURE: Programs concerned with any aspect of national or regional
culture.
VARIED: Light entertainment programs.
