4 Post-Migration Tasks
System Post-Migration Tasks
The Post Migration Cleanup command enables you to remove the migration host after the data
migration process is complete. To use this command, the following conditions are required:
Super user role
A Peer Motion configuration that has a source and destination system
No admitted volumes or importing volumes on the destination system
A migration host exists
The Remove PM Configuration command enables you to remove the Peer Motion configuration. It
will also remove the migration host if one exists on the source system. You can keep the peer ports
for later use or change them to host ports. To use this command, the following conditions are
required:
Super user role
A Peer Motion configuration that has a source and destination system
No admitted volumes or importing volumes on the destination system
Fabric Topology Post-Migration Tasks
The only task is to clean up the zoning between the source and destination arrays after all migrations
between the two are complete.
Volume Post-Migration Tasks
After you have verified that everything has been correctly migrated to the destination system, you
can reclaim the space on the source system by deleting the migrated volumes. Additionally, you
should remove the host definition and volume exports on the source system. For more information
on Post-Migration Cleanup, see
Remote Copy Post-Migration Tasks
If you are using HP 3PAR Remote Copy Software, the next step is to perform the Remote Copy
post-migration tasks:
If necessary, recreate the Remote Copy groups on the destination system to match the Remote
Copy groups on the source system.
Perform the Remote Copy synchronization task.
Remove the Remote Copy groups from the source system.
Configure and start the Remote Copy groups on the destination system from a specially created
snapshot that represents the end step of the data migration.
For more information, see the HP 3PAR Remote Copy Software User's Guide and the HP 3PAR OS
CLI Administrator's Manual.
