Recovering an IRF fabric

When the failed IRF link between two split IRF fabrics is recovered, all member devices in the inactive IRF
fabric (in Recovery state) join the active IRF fabric as subordinate members automatically, and the
network ports that have been shut down by MAD restore their original physical state automatically, as
shown in
Figure

If the active IRF fabric has failed, for example, because of device or link failures, before the IRF link is
recovered (see
state to Detect and bring up all physical ports that were shut down by MAD. After you repair the IRF link,
the two parts merge into a unified IRF fabric.
