Chapter 4 Operation This chapter contains information on how to use the HP R3000v UPS, including front panel operation, operating modes, UPS startup and shutdown, and battery settings. Control Panel Functions The UPS has two buttons and four LEDs on the right front bezel (see Figure 14).
OPERATION Operating Modes The HP R3000v UPS front panel indicates the UPS status through the UPS indicators (see Figure 14 on page 17). Normal Mode During Normal mode, the (Power On) indicator illuminates and the UPS is powered from the utility. The UPS monitors and charges the batteries as needed and provides filtered power protection to your equipment.

Chapter 8 Troubleshooting The HP R3000v UPS is designed for durable, automatic operation and also alerts you whenever potential operating problems may occur. Usually the alarms shown by the control panel do not mean that the output power is affected. Instead, they are preventive alarms intended to alert the user.
Silencing the Alarm NOTE: The UPS can be configured to deny access to silencing the alarm through the HP Value UPS Manager software (see page 23). Press the (Output On) button on the front panel display to silence the alarm. Check the alarm condition and perform the applicable action to resolve the condition.
