Audit Log

The ETERNUS DX Disk storage system can send information such as access records by the
administrator and setting changes as audit logs to the syslog servers.
Audit logs are audit trail information that record operations that are executed for the ETERNUS DX
Disk storage system and the response from the system. This information is required for auditing.
By using audit logs, all of the operations and any unauthorized access that may affect the system
can be monitored.
Syslog protocols (RFC 3164 and RFC 5424) are supported for audit logs.
Information that is to be sent to the syslog servers is not saved in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage
system. This information is sent to the syslog servers by using the syslog protocols. Two syslog
servers can be set as the destination servers in addition to the syslog server that is used for
event notification.

System administrator
The firmware version of the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system must be V10L40 or later to use the
audit log function. The firmware version can be checked via ETERNUS Web GUI or ETERNUS CLI. When
upgrading firmware is required, contact your sales representative.
5.3 Optimization of Volume Configurations
This section explains the functions that optimize volume configurations.
Drives and drive enclosures can be added during system operation in an ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
according to changes in the operation load and performance conditions.
The ETERNUS DX Disk storage system allows for the expansion of volumes and RAID group capacities,
migration among RAID groups, and the changing of RAID levels when the volumes are defined.
