INSTALLATION
This section provides a sequential action process to install the FNC and verify it for online operation.
Many references are made to the associated documents found on the CD included with this manual or the
included hard copies behind identifying tabs in this document.

(Do not mark in the original checklist. The checklist should be reproduced and copies stored in the binder
pocket for craft sign-off.)
Refer to Marconi document 640-205-001, Section 3, Installation Considerations, for detailed information.
Installation is comprised of these main steps:
• Mounting the Cabinet (Includes selecting and preparing the cabinet mounting location.)
• Wiring Connections
• Power Turnup
• System Verification

MOUNTING THE CABINET
These procedures include concrete pad location, site preparation, and cabinet installation.
Installation also includes handling and transporting the cabinet.
Concrete Pad Location and Construction
When determining the location for cabinet installation, consider the following:
Right of way, public safety, vulnerability, and accessibility. All are subject to local practices and proce-
dures. Refer to Marconi document 640-205-001, Section 3.1, Site Selection.
This procedure assumes that predetermined reference points exist so the pad and cabinet can be placed and
oriented exactly where planned.
Transportation and Storage
This procedure assumes that qualified material handlers and safety tested hoisting/lifting gear is available
for hoisting and moving the cabinet and that all local safety precautions are known and adhered to when
handling the cabinet.
An unsecured cabinet is unstable and can tip over causing serious injury
or equipment damage.
